About the Artist

Harold H. Tanner was born with artistic talent. His toys were display materials from a store window. He has won five gold medals from Display World Magazine and first place award in the National Westinghouse National Window.

He became a professional ISID interior designer by attending BYU, U of U and the New York School of Interior Design Firm for 15 years in Colorado Springs and Phoenix Arizona. He was the Design Chairman for eight years in the Design Home Show for the Colorado Springs Colorado Fine Arts Center. He serves as chairman of the Fun Arts Activity for Memory Matters Alzheimer & Dementia Society and also serves on their advisory board of directors.

Upon retiring he moved to St. George UT and started painting full time. He has studied with Jeane Weigel and Janet Tenneson- McCarty at the Blue Raven Studio at Kayenta. The Result of his art shows his love of abstract patterns, colors. texture, and his enthusiasm for life. He uses mixed medium and loves the excitement of heavy textures.

He received an invitation, and was accepted in the St. George Art Museum juried exhibit of “Visions of Zion” celebrating Zion Parks Centennial. He was invited to the UVU invitational Juried show in Provo Utah.

He is represented by Hayden-Hays Broadmoor Gallery in Colorado Springs, CO. The District Gallery in Park City, UT. De Zion Gallery in Springdale UT. Andera Gallery in Scottsdale, AZ. As well as the Great Southwest Gallery in Sedona, AZ. He has private collections in New Jersey, Utah, Colorado, Nevada, California, Missouri, with the largest collection in Costa Rica. He has his studio in the Electric Theater Arts Center and Shows in the Red Cliff Gallery and the arrowhead Gallery in St. George, Utah.
