What we do

Design & Branding

  • Use Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop to create print and digital marketing pieces for the University
  • Work with lead designers to develop marketing plans
  • Operate production room equipment including printers and cutters
  • Assist with installation of vinyl decals across campus
  • Ideal candidates are entering their junior or senior year in the Design or Marketing programs at Utah Tech
  • Graphic design portfolio required

Events & Promotions

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of large-scale Utah Tech University events, serving nearly 100,000 attendees each year
  • Develop, strategize, and manage community promotions such as the Art in the City initiative
  • Manage high-impact events hosted by the Office of the President including but not limited to Commencement, building groundbreaking ceremonies and dedications, University holiday events, and other annual and one-time University gatherings

Photography/Videography

  • Photograph events, headshots, promotional material, and more as part of a team or on solo assignments.
  • Plan and coordinate shoots, scout locations, coordinating, maintain client relations, cast, create shot lists, and more
  • Use Canon, Black Magic, and DJI cameras to capture footage for a variety of projects including studio work, live events, commercials, and more
  • Offload footage and photos into correct folders, tag assets, create project files, and help manage our video server
  • Use Premiere Pro and the Adobe Suite, editing content for varied audiences and styles.

Public Relations

  • Write and edit press releases, posts for Utah Tech’s crowd-sourced blog Blazer Bulletin, and articles for the UT Magazine and community publications
  • Interview UT students, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters to gather meaningful quotes and noteworthy information for publications, student highlights, and PR campaigns
  • Generate ideas and create content for the University’s main social media accounts; this requires interns to sometimes be in front of the camera and appear in @UtahTechU posts
  • Assist with special projects such as public education campaigns, crisis communication planning, and other public relations opportunities as needed
